Eligibility:
Persons must be at least 21 years old and have obtained a valid Illinois FOID Card under Illinois Law 430 ILCS 65/. Refer to the specific laws that apply on the Illinois State Police website: www.isp.state.il.us.
The Training:
You will receive training to properly use natural and artificial light sources to aid in low light shooting engagements. The class will focus on the following: target acquisition and engagement in various types of low light/dark envirionments, Proper use of both weapons mounted and hand-held flashlight techniques, weapon manipulations in low light environments and movement principles aided by darkness. This class is an addition to our normal line of Handgun Skills Courses and will require the student to be vetted by our staff prior to attending.
Registration:
The course tuition is $150.00 per person for the eight (8) hour class. The listed price includes all class materials and range fees. All students must be pre-registered FULL payment received to attended this class. Upon receiving your registration, a course rules and administration form will be emailed to you with additional information. A Certificate of Training will be provided to you upon completion of this class.
Equipment:
You will need the following items for this course: 1) A defensive caliber handgun. 2) 150 rds of target ammunition (minimum). 3) At least 2 usable magazines for your handgun (if semi-automatic). 4) A usable holster (OWB or IWB). 5) Weapon mounted light(optional) and a hand-held flashlight type (more than one, if possible). 6)Eye and ear protection. 7) Note taking material. 8) An open mind.
