Eligibility:
Persons must be at least 18 years old and have obtained a valid Illinois FOID Card under Illinois Law 430 ILCS 65/. Refer to the specific laws that apply on the Illinois State Police website: www.isp.state.il.us.
The Training:
You will receive training specific to the “Modern Technique” of the combat shotgun. This is an entry level course that is both mindset and fundamentals based while focusing on Close Quarters Battle (CQB) techniques. This course will cover the following concepts: Proper mount and control of the weapon, primary and support hand manipulations, shot shell ammunition patterning, proper use of sights/optics at CQB distances, multiple shot engagements, pistol transitions and discussion on proper shotgun configuration.
Registration:
Class size will be limited. Tuition is $140.00 per person for the 8 hour class. Students must be pre registered. Interested parties can register by email to: acsshooting@yahoo.com. Your email should contain the following information: Your name, telephone number, method of payment – cash or personal check (to be paid upon arrival to the class) and weapon type/caliber. Upon receiving your registration email, a course enrollment/deposit form will be sent to you. All students must have a completed enrollment/deposit form on file with deposit ($40.00) to be confirmed for this course.
Equipment:
You will need the following items for this course: 1) A .12 ga pump action or semi-auto shotgun. 2) Trap loads, 00 Buck, Slug and Handgun ammunition (amount will be advised). 3) A secondary handgun w/holster and at least one magazine. 4) A usable sling – Single point or two point. 5) Eye and ear protection. 6) An open mind. All additional equipment requirements will be emailed to you as part of your enrollment packet. Certificates of completion will be provided at the end of the class.
